Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Pingd in under 10 minutes. This guide walks you through signing up, connecting your data, and getting your first AI-powered insights.
Step 1: Create Your Account
Head to pingd.io and click Book a Demo or Get Started. You'll be asked for:
- Your work email address
- Your name
- Your company name
Pro Tip: Use your company email domain — this enables automatic team discovery so your colleagues can join your organization easily.
Step 2: Connect Slack
After signing in, you'll be prompted to connect your Slack workspace. Click Connect Slack and authorize Pingd in your workspace.
Pingd needs the following permissions:
- Send messages — so your AI agent can respond to queries
- Read messages in channels it's added to — to understand context
- Access your profile — to personalize responses
Step 3: Connect Your Data Source
Pingd connects directly to your existing data — no migration or syncing required. Navigate to Dashboard → Connections and use the Connection Wizard to connect your data source.
Supported data sources include:
- Snowflake — data warehouses with large-scale analytics data
- Salesforce — CRM data (accounts, contacts, opportunities)
- Amazon S3 — CSV and JSON files
- PostgreSQL — application databases
- Redshift — AWS data warehouses
For full setup instructions, see Connecting Data Sources. For Salesforce specifically, see Connecting Salesforce.
Step 4: Configure Your Agent
Your AI agent is ready to answer questions as soon as a data source is connected. To fine-tune its behavior:
- Set data access policies to control who sees what data — see Data Access Policies
- Customize the agent's personality and behavior — see Configuring Your Agent
- Review what your agent can do — see Agent Skills
Step 5: Ask Your First Question
Open Slack and DM your Pingd agent. Try these starter queries:
- "What's my pipeline looking like this quarter?"
- "Which deals are at risk of slipping?"
- "Prep me for my call with Acme Corp tomorrow"
- "Who hasn't responded to outreach in over 2 weeks?"
Pro Tip: Natural language works best. Ask questions the way you'd ask a colleague — no special syntax required.
Step 6: Create Your First Advisor (Optional)
Advisors are automated AI workflows that monitor your data and deliver insights to your team via Slack DMs. To create one:
- Navigate to Dashboard → Advisors → New Advisor
- Walk through the 6-step wizard: Type → Data Sources → Data Shaping → Rules → Prompt → Review
- Set a schedule (daily, hourly, or custom)
- Your advisor will start analyzing data and delivering insights automatically
What's Next?
- Set up data access policies to control who sees what
