What are advisors?
Advisors are automated AI assistants that proactively analyze your data and deliver insights via Slack DMs. Think of them as smart reports that understand context and highlight what matters most. They run on schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) and focus on specific business questions like "which deals are at risk?" or "what accounts need attention?"How do I create an advisor?
Navigate to Dashboard → Advisors → Create Advisor. You'll go through a 6-step wizard:- Type & Schedule — Choose advisor type and set when it runs (daily, weekly, etc.)
- Data Sources — Connect to your Snowflake, Salesforce, S3, or other data source
- Data Shaping — Select your primary entity (accounts, deals, contacts) and related tables
- Rules — Set filters and conditions for what data to analyze
- Prompt — Define what insights you want the advisor to generate
- Review — Preview how it works and who receives the insights
How does delivery work?
Advisors use a 3-stage async process:- Stage 1: Fetch and analyze data from your connected data sources using AI batch processing (50% cost savings vs real-time)
- Stage 2: Generate insights with priority scoring, titles, and detailed analysis
- Stage 3: Deliver insights via Slack DMs to specified recipients based on your notification column (like owner email)
Who can create advisors?
Only users with Owner or Admin roles can create and manage advisors. Members will see "Insufficient permissions" if they try to access advisor features.Why am I not receiving advisor insights?
Check these common issues:- Your email in the data source must match your Slack account email exactly
- The advisor may still be processing (check batch status in the dashboard)
- Verify the notification column is set correctly in the data shaping step
- Ensure the advisor schedule is active and hasn't been paused
Connectors
How do I connect a new data source?
Go to Dashboard → Connections → Add Connection and follow the Connection Wizard:- Choose connector type (Snowflake, S3, Salesforce, etc.)
- Enter credentials — All credentials are encrypted before storage
- Test connection — We verify access to your data source
- Discover tables — We scan and catalog your available data tables
- Map logical names — Assign friendly names for the AI to understand
- Set as primary (optional) — Make this the default data source for queries
Can I connect multiple data sources?
Yes! Each organization can have multiple connections (Snowflake + S3 + Salesforce, etc.). Set one as "primary" for general agent queries, and use others for specific advisors or analysis.How are my database credentials stored?
All connection credentials are encrypted using AES-256 before storage and only decrypted at query time in server memory. We never log or expose credentials in error messages. Each connection is isolated per organization — no other org can access your data sources.What if my connection fails?
Check these common issues:- Snowflake: Verify account identifier, username/password, and IP allowlist
- S3: Confirm AWS access key/secret key have read permissions on the bucket
- Salesforce: OAuth tokens may have expired — reconnect to refresh
- Redshift/PostgreSQL: Verify connection string, credentials, and SSL settings

Slack is currently our primary interface. Web dashboard access and additional integrations (Teams, email) are on our roadmap.What happens if Slack is down?
If Slack experiences an outage, Pingd is unavailable. You can still access the Pingd dashboard and settings. Scheduled tasks will queue and execute once Slack is restored.Can I use Pingd with multiple Slack workspaces?
Currently, each Pingd organization connects to one Slack workspace. Multi-workspace support is available on Enterprise plans.Is there an API?
