Agent Skills & Capabilities

Pingd's agent has a set of skills — discrete capabilities it can use to answer your questions and complete tasks. Here's what it can do and how to get the most out of each skill.

Core Skills

🔍 Data Query

What it does: Searches and retrieves data from your connected data sources (Snowflake, S3, Salesforce, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and more). Examples:
  • "Show me all deals closing this month"
  • "What's the total pipeline value for Q2?"
  • "List accounts with no activity in 30 days"
Tips: Be specific with time ranges and filters for better results. The agent automatically queries the right data source based on your organization's primary connection.

📊 Pipeline Analysis

What it does: Analyzes your pipeline data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Examples:
  • "How does my Q1 pipeline compare to Q4?"
  • "Which deals are most likely to slip?"
  • "What's my average deal cycle length?"
Tips: Ask comparative questions to get the most insightful analysis.

📋 Meeting Prep

What it does: Generates comprehensive meeting preparation materials for upcoming calls. Examples:
  • "Prep me for my call with Acme Corp tomorrow"
  • "What should I know before my QBR with the enterprise team?"
Includes: account summary, recent activity, stakeholder map, talking points, competitive intel, and open action items.

See Meeting Prep for details.

💡 Insight Generation

What it does: Proactively identifies patterns and anomalies in your data. Examples:
  • "What insights do you have about my pipeline?"
  • "Anything I should be worried about this quarter?"
Types of insights: deal risk alerts, engagement trends, competitive signals, quota tracking.

See Insights & Alerts for details.

📝 Account Research

What it does: Pulls together comprehensive account profiles. Examples:
  • "Give me a full briefing on Acme Corp"
  • "What's the history with Globex Inc?"
Includes: company overview, deal history, contact map, activity timeline, and any known competitive presence.

✉️ Draft Generation

What it does: Creates draft communications based on context. Examples:
  • "Draft a follow-up email for my Acme meeting"
  • "Write a check-in message for deals going dark"
Pro Tip: The agent uses account context to personalize drafts. The more data it has, the better the drafts.

📅 Scheduled Tasks

What it does: Runs recurring agent tasks on a schedule. Examples:
  • "Give me a morning pipeline briefing every weekday at 8 AM"
  • "Send me a weekly deal risk summary on Mondays"
See Scheduled Tasks for setup details.

🎯 Advisor Creation & Management

What it does: Creates and manages automated advisors that generate insights from your data on a schedule. Examples:
  • "Create an advisor to track deal risks weekly"
  • "Set up a monthly pipeline health advisor for my team"
  • "Show me insights from my competitive intelligence advisor"
Advisors use a 6-step wizard to configure data sources, apply filters, and generate targeted insights delivered via Slack. Only users with Owner or Admin roles can create advisors.

See Advisors Overview for details.

🔗 External Connector Queries

What it does: Intelligently routes queries to the appropriate external data source based on your organization's connections. Examples:
  • "Pull account data from our Snowflake warehouse"
  • "Get the latest opportunities from Salesforce"
  • "Query customer files from our S3 bucket"
The agent automatically handles data source routing, authentication, and query translation across different connector types.

🎨 Data Shaping Awareness

What it does: Understands your organization's data structure across different sources and can recommend data shaping configurations. Examples:
  • "What tables are available in our data sources?"
  • "Help me configure data shaping for advisor insights"
  • "Which columns should I use for user filtering?"
The agent can guide you through primary entity selection, related table mapping, and column configuration for optimal insights generation.

Enabling & Disabling Skills

Admins can control which skills are available:

How Skills Work Together

Skills aren't isolated — they compose. When you ask a complex question, the agent may use multiple skills:

"Prep me for my Acme call and flag any risks"
  1. Account Research — Pulls Acme Corp profile
  2. CRM Query — Gets recent activities and deal status
  3. Meeting Prep — Compiles talking points
  4. Insight Generation — Identifies risk factors
This multi-skill composition is what makes Pingd an agent, not just a Q&A tool.
